Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
Thurs., 10/20 from 5:30pm-6:30pm in 55 Whitney, Room 369

Do you have an interest in finance, quantitative analysis, effective markets, and leadership? If so, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau wants you to join our ranks. Last year, Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which created a new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (the CFPB). This law establishes a single point of accountability to assure that markets for consumer financial products credit cards, mortgages, student loans, prepaid cards etc. Work for American consumers and for responsible providers of those products. Elizabeth Warren and a small Implementation Team (including a number of Yale graduates) spent a year standing up the bureau, and on July 21, 2011, the CFPB opened for business. We are building the CFPB as a 21st century agency that helps consumer finance markets work better by making rules more effective, by consistently and fairly enforcing those rules, and by empowering consumers to take more control over their economic lives. We achieve our mission through data-driven analysis, innovative use of technology, and valuing the best people and great teamwork. Learn firsthand about working at the CFPB at our information session on October 20 at 5:30pm at 55 Whitney, Third Floor. For more information, visit www.consumerfinance.gov.
